A&E President and CEO Reelected to the AMCI Board

Toronto, Ontario – November 07, 2017 – Association and Events Management (A&E) is proud to announce the reelection of Serge Micheli, CAE, CEM, President and CEO to a second term on the AMC (Association Management Company) Institute (AMCI) Board of Directors. During the election which closed on October 5, 2017 the membership of AMCI named Mr. Micheli to a second one-year term as the Canadian Chapter Representative Director.

As a founding member of the AMCI Canadian Chapter, Serge has won the support and confidence of his peers who have elected him President of the Chapter; this reelection by the full Institute Membership is a ringing endorsement of Mr. Micheli’s contribution to the broader AMC Industry. “I am so honoured to be representing the AMC sector here at home, and to have the opportunity to represent the Canadian AMC community on the global stage” noted Mr. Micheli.

Serge, is also a past chair of the CSAE (Canadian Society of Association Executives) Trillium Chapter, and has sought and obtained the professional designations CAE (Certified Association Executive) and CEM (Certified in Exposition Management). Mr. Micheli said “I believe that the backbone of the Association sector is giving back and supporting your organization, that is why as the AMCI Canada Chapter is in its infancy, I have personally funded travel and registration for myself as well as my staff to participate in the Institute’s programming.”

In a show of further support for AMCI, this year A&E has begun work to ensure compliance with AMCI Standards, as a first step towards applying for Accreditation in the coming 18-24 months. A&E Vice-President, Michael Dargavel CEM has already begun the process of documenting A&E’s policies and procedures, under direction from Mr. Micheli. This process along with enhanced relationships with AMCI peers across North America is expected to further enhance the depth and breadth of A&E’s already impressive service offerings.

In his role as AMCI Canadian Chapter Representative, Serge attended the Institute’s Board meeting last week in Anaheim, California, and he is expected to contribute to the Institute’s 2018 Annual Conference in Vancouver, BC as a panelist.
