TORONTO, March 14, 2017// The Convention Centres of Canada (CCC) is pleased to announce that Association and Events Management (A&E), a Toronto based Association Management Company (AMC) has been selected to provide Association Management Services effective March 1, 2017. A&E has appointed Danielle S. Russell, CAE, A&E’s Senior Association Manager as Executive Director of the CCC also effective March 1, 2017.
“Association and Events Management is excited to welcome the Convention Centres of Canada to our AMC as a client” noted Serge Micheli, CAE, CEM the President and CEO of Association and Events Management. “With our sector expertise in event and convention management, strategic planning and change management, and expanding associations’ financial health and membership, we are confident that we can provide the best practices guidance and services that CCC requires.
Cathy Pugh, the chair of the Convention Centres of Canada board had this to say when notifying the membership of the hiring of A&E. “The services of Executive Director for the Convention Centres of Canada will now be performed by an associate of Association and Events Management (A&E). This firm will allow us to have professional leadership at an affordable cost. A&E is a full service firm providing first-class management to trade and professional associations.” She noted that A&E’s staff team will bring the following skills and attributes to the management of the CCC, “association management, government relations, political science, meetings and conventions, public relations, website development, financial management, and association governance, just to name a few.”
The Convention Centres of Canada wishes to thank Rod Cameron for his long-serving leadership as founding Executive Director of the CCC. In addition, the Association and Events Management team also extend thanks to Rod for his willingness to contribute to a smooth transition, and his openness to sharing his institutional knowledge – which has been, and will continue to be invaluable.

Danielle S. Russell, CAE is a Leader in the Association and Not-for-Profit sector in Canada. An award winning Association Executive, Danielle has been recognized by her peers at the Canadian Society of Association Executives, Trillium Chapter – in 2011 she proudly accepted the inaugural Chapter Emerging Talent Award.
A Senior Association Manager at Association and Events Management since 2013, Danielle provides leadership and governance support to all of A&E’s client associations. Prior to joining the AE Team in 2013, Danielle worked at another AMC providing support to associations in a variety of Industries. From 2004 to 2007 Danielle worked as a political assistant to the Ontario Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing.
Danielle acquired a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2004, and during her time there, she established a solid track record of volunteerism and leadership on campus. In April 2012 she obtained a Recognition of Achievement in French Conversation from Seneca College, and in September 2015 she was granted her CAE (Certified Association Executive).
